Labor Day was also Kevin's birthday. He turned 42! We went on a family hike. We kept the hike local-very local. We live near a preserve (about 2 miles away or less), so we hiked there and back. We rewarded ourselves and took Kevin out for breakfast at one of our favorite restaurants, "Joe's Farmhouse Grill". It was a fun day to hang out with dad on his birthday.

Flagstaff Retreat
We were lucky to be able to use Steve's cabin up in Flagstaff. (Thanks Stevie!) We had so much fun taking in the beautiful surroundings and just being together as a family. What a great way to escape the heat!

Wet and Wild Weekend
So Kevin decided he wanted to have a ginormous water slide for the kids and all their friends to enjoy. Secretly, it was Kevin who really wanted to enjoy it. We had a blast! I even went down a few times. The kids slipped and slided for 9 hours straight! Needless to say they slept well that night!!

Ward Campout

First Day of School
The kids started their first day of school. Summer break goes way too fast! Tatum is off to Jr. High! I can't believe how fast they are all growing up.

Newport Beach 2010
We hit the beach again this year in Newport. We love going every year with my side of the family. The kids love hanging out with their cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. It's a tradition that we never miss! The weather was fantastic this year. A little on the cool side which is great when you're from the Arizona heat.

Tatum's 12th Birthday
This is Tatum "before" her make-over.
Tatum was so excited to be able to wear make-up for the first time. I was really reluctant, but Dolce salon did an amazing job keeping her make-up age appropriate. Dolce salon even let her mix her own make-up and choose the scent for her lip gloss. She had so much fun. Now she has better make-up than me. Looks like I'll be borrowing make-up from Tatum from now on.

San Diego
Every year Kevin runs the Mud Run at Camp Pendleton. He has such a blast and we all come to support him. Ok, so we get to hang out in San Diego at the beach too! Huge chore! We had a blast taking in the sand, sun, and of course the mud.

Memorial Day Hike
One of our goals as a family was to get in at least one family hike per month. This hike was at South Mountain (Telegraph Pass). It was a tough hike but the kids did great.
